Na Muang Waterfall 1
Na Muang Waterfall 1 is the most accessible waterfall on Koh Samui — the 20-metre cascade dropping into a natural swimming pool surrounded by the tropical forest is reached by a short walk from the car park, making it the most visited natural attraction in the island's forested interior. The purple-tinged rock over which the water falls (caused by the mineral content of the water reacting with the granite) gives the waterfall its distinctive appearance, and the natural swimming pool at the base provides the most refreshing freshwater swimming experience on an island otherwise defined by its saltwater beach activities.

Na Muang Waterfall 2
Na Muang Waterfall 2, a 20-minute walk further into the forest from the first waterfall, is less visited and more dramatically situated — the taller cascade falling through dense forest requires a proper trail walk rather than the stroll to the first waterfall, and the effort filters the visitor numbers to leave a more natural and less commercial atmosphere at the upper falls. The trail between the two waterfalls passes through the primary forest of the Na Muang National Park, with the characteristic large trees, the understorey ferns and gingers, and the bird calls of the forest interior that are very different from the coconut palm landscape of the coastal areas.

Samui Highlands Viewpoint
The highlands road crossing Koh Samui's central ridge from the southern coast to the northern coast passes through the highest terrain on the island and provides the most comprehensive views of the island's geography — the viewpoints along the road reveal the full scale of the island, with the east coast resort beaches visible through the palm trees on one side and the western shore and the Gulf of Thailand horizon visible on the other. The highlands road, largely free of tourist development and lined with the mature coconut palms of the hill plantations, provides the most authentic experience of the pre-resort Koh Samui landscape that the national park has preserved.

Butterfly Garden Koh Samui
The Samui Butterfly Garden in the island's interior is one of the larger butterfly houses in southern Thailand — the enclosed garden habitat for live Thai butterfly species provides the most accessible encounter with the island's insect biodiversity for visitors who are not comfortable on the jungle trails. The garden's collection includes the large Rajah Brooke's Birdwing, the common Mormon butterfly, and the various Swallowtail species of Thailand's peninsular butterfly fauna in a naturalistic garden setting that complements the forest trail experience for visitors interested in the island's natural history beyond the marine environment.

The Samui Snake Farm provides educational encounters with the snake species of Koh Samui and Southern Thailand — the collection of live venomous and non-venomous snakes (including the king cobra, the various pit viper species, and the non-venomous pythons) is maintained for educational purposes and the snake handling shows demonstrate the behaviour and biology of species that resort visitors may encounter around the island. The educational programme about the venomous species found on Koh Samui (king cobra, Malayan pit viper, monocled cobra) is genuinely useful for visitors who walk in the island's forested areas.

The traditional herbal medicine garden maintained by a Thai traditional medicine practitioner in the island's interior demonstrates the medicinal plant knowledge that supported the island's pre-modern healthcare for generations — the garden's collection of identified and labelled medicinal plants (the galangal and turmeric used in both cooking and medicine, the pandan used as a natural food colouring and insect repellent, the various plants used in traditional Thai massage and herbal steam bath treatments) provides the most direct encounter with the traditional Thai botanical knowledge available on the island.
