    Town Beach

    Town Beach at the mouth of the Hastings River is Port Macquarie's most central beach — the river mouth makes for interesting currents and the beach faces northeast into the prevailing swell.

    Flynns Beach

    Flynns Beach is the favourite of Port Macquarie's nine beaches — a surf beach with a protected swimming area, backed by a grassy foreshore park with the coastal walk passing above on the headland.

    Nobbys Head Lookout

    Nobbys Head provides the best whale watching lookout on the coast — humpback whales migrate north from June and south from September, passing close to the headland in their annual journey.

    Shelly Beach

    Shelly Beach is the most sheltered of Port Macquarie's beaches — a small, north-facing cove protected by headlands on both sides where sea turtles are often spotted feeding in the clear water.

    Miners Beach is one of the longer stretches of sand on the coastal walk — a wide, flat beach with reliable surf and dunes backing the beach that provide habitat for little tern nesting colonies.

    Lighthouse Beach

    Lighthouse Beach is the longest and most magnificent of the nine — a 9-kilometre sweep of sand backed by the 1879 Tacking Point Lighthouse, the oldest functioning lighthouse on the mid-north coast.
