MAMAC – Museum of Modern & Contemporary Art
Nice's premier contemporary art museum occupies a striking geometric building of white marble towers near Place Garibaldi. The collection focuses on New Realism and American Pop Art, featuring Yves Klein monochromes, Niki de Saint Phalle sculptures, and works by Arman and Ben.

Place Garibaldi
The grandest square in Nice—a perfect example of Piemontese architecture with arcaded ochre buildings surrounding a central fountain. Named after the Italian unification hero born in Nice in 1807, it anchors the transition between the old port and the historic centre.

Set in a 17th-century red-ochre Genoese villa in Cimiez, this museum holds the world's largest Matisse collection—paintings, drawings, gouaches, bronzes, and personal objects donated by the artist who spent his final years in Nice. The surrounding Cimiez gardens are serene and free.
