Getting to Milford Sound
Options are: driving from Te Anau on SH94 (1.5 hours), coach tour from Queenstown (8 hours return) or a scenic flight from Queenstown. The scenic flight with a boat cruise return is the most efficient and spectacular option.

Cruise Booking
Milford Sound cruise operators include Real Journeys, Jucy Cruise and Southern Discoveries. Booking several days in advance is essential in the October to April peak season. Early morning cruises have smaller crowds.

Overnight at Milford Lodge
The only accommodation within the fiord is Milford Lodge, which must be booked well in advance. Staying overnight transforms the experience, giving access to the fiord at times impossible for day visitors.
